Establish a Will

It can be difficult to predict how family dynamics will unfold in the future so it’s important to make sure your Will is updated and reflects your wishes. When establishing your Will you need to consider the following:

  • Establish an executor / executrix / successors to administer your estate
  • Ensure the executor / executrix / successors know the location of the Will
  • Ensure the Will details who the beneficiaries are and what they'll receive
  • Ensure the beneficiaries of your life insurance policies are co-ordinated with the provisions of your Wills
  • Be aware of the possible impact that Capital Gains Tax can have on your estate
  • Ensure there are sufficient funds to provide for your dependants
  • Designate successor beneficiaries who will receive your assets if you should not be survived by your spouse

Important note: Creating a Will that meets your needs involves both financial and legal advice. We can work with your lawyer or introduce you to our legal partners who are experts in Estate Planning. Please contact us if you have any questions about creating your Will.
