FMD Shares
Our FMD Shares portfolios have been designed specifically for our clients, using portfolio recommendations received from various brokers and research houses, which are in turn reviewed by the Hillross’ Direct Shares Experts.
The FMD IC meets regularly to discuss our FMD Shares portfolios and make recommendation to retain, replace or add additional stocks.
The independent assessment of the portfolios by Hillross ensures that stock recommendations remain independent and of the highest quality.
FMD Shares provides you with active management of your direct share portfolio:
-
MDA Service: FMD Shares operates using a Managed Discretionary Account service (or MDA service). This allows FMD, as your financial planner, to make alternations to your stock portfolio without having to first seek your written consent.
-
Monthly Newsletters: You will receive a monthly newsletter updating you on the performance and outlook for your FMD Shares portfolios:
-
Automatic Stock Changes: Where a change is recommended, you will receive an e-mail outlining the change that will be made to your portfolio, together with our investment committee’s basis for making the change and research reports for any new stocks. At the same time, FMD automatically implements these changes for you portfolio and you will receive confirmation via e-mail when the change has been made.
The FMD Shares portfolios are managed using the following approach:
-
Low Turnover: FMD will be endeavouring to minimise stock turnover on the portfolios and will purchase securities based on their longer-term outlook. As a guide, FMD will be targeting turnover rates of less than 20% per annum. However various circumstances may see this benchmark exceeded from time to time.
-
Trading Strategies: Short-term trading strategies (for example, profit taking) will not be employed in the portfolio management.
-
Benchmark: The portfolios aim to out perform the S&P/ASX 200 Accumulation Index over a 3 year and above time frame. Portfolios may include a small number of stocks outside of the top 200. Listed property will generally be excluded from the portfolios.
-
Fully Invested: The portfolios will not execute any tactical asset allocation strategies and they, will remain fully invested in Australian equities.
